The GSP is an alliance of 41 primary schools in Gloucester City committed to effective challenge and support, in order to provide the highest quality provision to raise the attainment, aspirations and life chances of the pupils in the Partnership.
Originally founded in 2008, the Partnership is still thriving. The initial commitment of the city’s primary schools to our Partnership was a very powerful statement of intent, but we are very conscious that funding is tight for all of our schools so are always mindful of the need to demonstrate best value and to ensure that our funding is sustainable.
Sharing knowledge, best practice and next practice within the Partnership helps our schools to maintain a consistently high quality teaching provision; as well as giving access to a calendar of inspiring and memorable opportunities for pupils, which might otherwise be logistically and/or financially unsustainable by a single school.
The GSP also continues to focus on the well-being, personal development and progression of staff in all its member schools, by providing quality CPD throughout their teaching careers and by providing valuable peer-to-peer networks, so that subject leads – from every size of school – feel part of a bigger community.
Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group have commissioned a telephone support line and text chat service for parents and carers regarding young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.
This service is being piloted for two years by a well-known voluntary and community sector provider, TiC+. This is following an engagement exercise with parents and carers and staff who work with children and young people who fed back the need for additional support.
The telephone advice line is available on Mondays between 5pm and 9pm, Tuesdays between 9am and 1pm, Wednesdays between 5pm and 9pm and Saturdays between 9am and 1pm. The number is Freephone 0800 625675.
